The UAE Committee for Talent Care has approved the Abu Dhabi International Swimming Championship, a key event for discovering young talents. Over 1000 swimmers from around the world will compete from December 12-14.

The UAE Committee for Talent Care and National Sports Support at the Ministry of Sports, chaired by Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Assistant Under-Secretary for Sports Development and Competitiveness, has approved the Abu Dhabi International Swimming Championship - December 2025 as a key platform for discovering talented swimmers and tracking their technical development. This is part of the UAE's comprehensive national plan for nurturing and manufacturing sporting talents in swimming. The championship will kick off tomorrow and conclude next Sunday at the swimming pool of the Mohammed bin Zayed City Sports Complex. Organized by the Abu Dhabi Aquatic Sports Club, in cooperation with the UAE Aquatic Sports Federation and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the event ensures the application of the highest standards of professional organization and technical management, along with compliance with international regulations and safety requirements. Over 1000 swimmers from more than 100 countries, representing 70 clubs and academies from within and outside the country, will participate, reflecting the event's massive scale and significance. In this context, Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum stated: 'The Abu Dhabi International Swimming Championship is a pivotal station within a comprehensive national system aimed at discovering and honing sporting talents. It is a strategic step under the programs of the UAE Committee for Talent Care and National Sports Support, which come under the patronage of the Ministry of Sports and in cooperation with its strategic partners, to support achieving the goals of the National Sports Strategy 2031.' He added: 'We take pride in the wide participation in the championship, which reflects the advanced standing of the UAE as a global sports destination capable of hosting and organizing major international championships to the highest standards.'
